A day of experiences😊

 Our teaching practice was started today.I have allotted St. Goretti's H. S. S for teaching practice. Our team reached there at 9 am. Anulekshmi from Physical science is our leader and Emi from social science is our assistant leader. We met the Principal Sr. Acqina at the office. She gave us the instructions to be followed there and the duties allotted to us. After signing our attendence, we met our respective optional teachers.

I met Sabu Sir (9th std) and Febi teacher (8th std). They allowed us to enter the class and interact with the students.

I  was in 8B at second period and it was a very different experience to me. I have reached there with lots of love, care and expectations. But it was very tough for me to manage a class of 55 students for the first time in my life, but it taught me much more than I expected. 80% of the students doesn't cooperate. That was really a painful experience to me. But there was counters that made me to laugh in my mind.

As I told my name Anjana, they connected it with Argentina and talked about world cup football.

One told me that "I am a genius, you know?"

They were joking each other most of the time.

A beautiful song by leader Akshaya made me happy🥰.

As the noise increased, their maths teacher Febi teacher came there for helping me.. But even in the presence of the teacher, they made more and more noise.However, I could start the chapter Ratio. I divided them into groups and gave them an activity to check their previous knowledge. Even though they create problems throughout the class, they gave me the right answers to the activity. That made me very much happy💞💞

Fortunately most of the students 

This was not only for me.. All the student teachers entered in 8B faced the same problem. The major talk was about 8B.

During 6th period, I was in 9 D. That is girls only class.I started the class with the story of,Ramanujan- Hardy number 1729.Then I started the chapter Circle measures.Sabu sir observed my class.. After taking 20-25 minutes class, I interacted with the students there. They were very very cooperative.

I gave a puzzle to solve. They tried their maximum. 90% of the students were finding the answer very interestingly. After that I gave them an activity to construct a magic sqare.I enjoyed the class very much.

The school time is up to 3.30. Mimina, Liza and me had discipline duties there till 4.30 pm.

Day 15

I reached the school by 9am and marked the attendance. We were in morning discipline duty upto 9.30. As usual we had prayer at 9.30. In first period, I engaged in my works. In second period. In 3rd period, I went to 8C along with Amalu. She was teaching how to draw perpendicular bisector of a line. It was a disciplined and meaningful class. In 4th period, I was in 8C with Nithin Shaji. He was teaching how to seperate petrol from crude oil. Then he cleared the doubts of students and later taught about pure substances and mixtures. His class was value oriented and he kept the class disciplined.   In 5th period, Megha and me went to 9B for substitution. As it was their PT period, they were not ready to study. Day 21 @ Aakkulam

  I reached the school by 9 am. I went to second floor for morning discipline duty.  Nithin Shaji and me were assigned to visit The Southern Air Command @ Aakkulam along with some of the selected students of+2. The principal gave us necessary instructions. We along with the 20 students started our journey by 10 am in the school bus. There were so many securities in front of the institution. Mobile phones were not allowed. So we kept the mobile phones in our bus and entered after completing the security checking. As we entered,the officers there gave us necessary instructions in Hindi , English and Malayalam language. We got a very disciplined atmosphere there. Students walked in lines according to their command. Students from 8 schools were there in total. At first they gave us a warm welcome and a very nice refreshment. Day 5

        I reached the school 🏫 by 9 am and marked the attendance. We started the day with a prayer. In the first period, I was preparing for my class. In the second period, I went to 8C along with Amalu. She was teaching Equal triangles 📐 there. The students were so noisy so that Amalu tried  her best to keep the class disciplined. Later our leader Parvathi distributed some duties given by the Headmaster. We want to create an അക്ഷരമരം as a part of the reading week celebrations.  Also we have to conduct some programs related to International Yoga Day- June 21. I get the duty to explain the benefits of Pathmasana when Parvathi taught them Pathmasana. Also we want to conduct an anti-drug program.
